Pay More for a List
To Save a Fortune

An insurance agent called to order a list of names. "What type of names would you like" was my first question. "Ones I can mail to" was the answer. Aaaarrrgghh!! I now understand why most insurance agents stay in the business for a few years, get disgusted with their progress, and take up a different profession. You must be more specific in your list requests. I could easily supply this insurance agent with 1,000 random prospect names. But some of the people will have incomes under $20K, some will be 65+ years old, and many will have absolutely no need or desire for insurance. It would make more sense to request a list of nearby residents aged 22-60 with an income of 35K+, and preferably have them living in a home rather than an apartment. That way we'll cut out at least 50% of the universe that will rarely ever pull a response, and be able to concentrate our marketing dollars on the people most likely to have a need for our product or service. At an average cost of $.50 each to mail to your prospects, it's crazy to "shoot at the broad side of the barn" when you can aim for the front door.
