A High Tech "Thank You"
To Increase Sales

In a previous issue of Mailing List Tidbits I recommended adding a little something extra into your shipments to entice the next order. My original suggestion -- a bag of jelly beans or popcorn -- is an excellent one. But if you're in the high tech or office equipment business, you might want to try another more "techie" approach. Shareware or "try before you buy" games are available from any number of sources (PC-SIG, Compuserve, Genie, Public Brand Software are four reliable sources). The software publishers make these programs available to the public on a trial basis. If you like the program, the user is expected to register the program and pay a fee for it. But the software publishers want their programs delivered to as many users as possible to increase their market potential and, hopefully, register more satisfied users. By supplying a copy of this program in with your packaging you're doing them a service and giving your customers something extra for their patronage. Obtain several computer games and include a copy of these disks in your normal delivery package, along with your written explanation of why you're including it and the concept of shareware. Remember to add a "thank you" for their order. You'll make your clients smile and look forward to their next order. They'll remember your good service and your extra attention. Cost for the diskettes in bulk is about .25/ea. Including duplication time, your cost should be less than $1.00/ea. A good investment to make your next sale.
